about

Bardus go straight for the jugular with “Smoke Bath”, a ragged adrenaline rush, like Nirvana tearing through early Kylesa and if the idea of Yob having their drinks spiked with amphetamines appeals to you, “Stella Porta” will be right up your street.  This record is a swift, addictive rush of all the best elements of heavy music and will ensure you keep coming back for more throughout 2016.

Sharing space with their contemporaries instead of appropriating influences into their own sound, Bardus are a Philadelphian triad of intense sonic organization, playing heavy music with raw intent.

You'll wanna scratch your head trying to describe the sound, but you'll also have trouble lifting your arm near album's end. Bardus knit hot chaos within quick tempos, only to thrust that crochet needle just under your sternum. Sludge? Noise? Ugh... Hardcore? Nah. This is just genre-defying impetuosity.

Stella Porta is one hell of a statement, both as a calling card for the threesome’s impressive and oppressive live presence as well as a line in the sand asserting their place in the upper echelon of the increasingly crowded post-grunge/noise rock landscape.

Stella Porta is a rich and uncompromising seven track maelstrom of sludge, grunge, noise, and psych rock forcibly showing exactly why so many people are making vocal fuss about the trio.

"If the Melvins, Eyehategod, Unsane, and Queens of the Stone Age all somehow co-fathered some ungodly offspring, that ungodly offspring would, no doubt, sound an awful lot like Bardus"
